Comic-Con 2013!!

Once again it’s on!

Comic-Con International: San Diego has once again risen from the depths like so many kaiju monsters, hell-bent on mankind’s destruction. But this year we’re canceling the nerdpocalypse! By which I mean, we’re attending the nerdpocalypse.

Peep the itinerary:

Small Press Table # L-01 will be homebase, where I’ll be splitting a table with my partner-in-rhyme Gustavo Alberto Garcia Vaca. We’ll have Rhyme Travelers comics, buttons, postcards and sketches for one and all… not to mention some very big news about some very cool events coming up this fall. You won’t wanna miss that.

On top of that I’ll have Tales to Suffice, Death Trip #1, F.E.R.R.A.R.I. BOYZ #1 for sale along with a few surprises guaranteed to blow your mind. GUARANTEED.

“Hip-Hop And Comics: Cultures Combining” panel presentation at Comic-Con International: San Diego on July 20th at 7pm.

Depth Of Field Magazine brings together renowned comic creators and Hip-Hop luminaries to discuss ties between the two forms, upcoming projects, and shared inspirations

On Saturday, July 20th, from 7:00 to 8:00pm, Depth Of Field Magazine is proud to present Hip-Hop And Comics: Cultures Combining, a panel discussion at Comic-Con International: San Diego.  Comic books and Hip-Hop grew from modest origins to achieve global impact, and in the process, they have crossed over in innumerable ways – mixing elements of different media to create, innovate, and affect the entire face of modern pop culture.  This panel features an incredible line-up of comic creators and Hip-Hop legends shedding light on the ways Hip-Hop and comics have inspired each other, giving historical perspective on common elements and influences, and showcasing new and upcoming projects.

Patrick Reed (editor of Depth Of Field Magazine) will moderate, and the panelists include:

-Del The Funky Homosapien (acclaimed MC, vocalist for Deltron 3030, Heiroglyphics, Gorillaz)

-Dan The Automator (producer: Deltron 3030, Pillowfight, Lovage, Handsome Boy Modeling School)

-Kid Koala (world-renowned DJ, composer, producer, and remixer)

-Toni Isabella (general manager: Bulk Recordings, Deltron 3030, Pillowfight)

-Adam ‘Illus’ Wallenta (co-creator of the Public Enemy comic book, acclaimed MC and illustrator)

-Jim Mahfood (creator/artist: ‘Visual Funk’, ‘Grrl Scouts’, ‘Los Angeles Ink Stains’)

-Kenny Keil (creator/artist: ‘My Longbox Weighs A Ton’, co-creator/artist: ‘Rhyme Travelers’)

-Matthew Rosenberg (author/co-creator: Ghostface Killah’s ’12 Reasons To Die’ comic book)
